Using the Studio
What size should my uploaded screenshots be?
Any normal phone screenshot works: a capture from the iOS Simulator, an iPhone, or an Android phone. The Studio fits it into the phone frame and trims the edges slightly if its shape differs from the frame's. Higher-resolution captures give sharper results.
How do I highlight a word in a headline?
In step 2 (Words), type your headline, then tap any word in the row of buttons underneath it. That word changes to the highlight color. Tap it again to undo. You can change the highlight color in step 3 (Style).
Can I download all my screenshots at once?
Yes. In step 4, "Download all" saves one ZIP file containing every slide, named 01.png, 02.png and so on in upload order. You can also download just the slide you're looking at.
What does "One background flowing across all slides" do?
It stretches a single gradient across the whole set, so the right edge of each slide matches the left edge of the next. In the store, the slides read as one continuous image, which encourages people to swipe.
Does my work save if I close the page?
No. Everything stays in your browser tab and is cleared when you close or reload it. Download your screenshots before you leave the page.
Sizes and files
What sizes does the Studio export?
iPhone: 1320 × 2868 pixels, the large iPhone size App Store Connect asks for. Apple scales it down for smaller iPhones. Android: 1080 × 1920 pixels (9:16), the size Google Play recommends for featured placement. See the screenshot sizes guide for every accepted size.
Why does App Store Connect say my image "can't contain alpha channels or transparencies"?
Your PNG file has a transparency (alpha) channel, even if nothing in it is actually see-through. Many design tools add one by default. Files from the Studio are saved as plain RGB PNGs without an alpha channel, so this error doesn't happen.
Why not export Android screenshots at 1080 × 2400?
Google Play doesn't accept screenshots whose long side is more than twice the short side, and 1080 × 2400 is slightly taller than that. 1080 × 1920 is within the limit and meets Google's recommendation for featured placement.
Can I make iPad screenshots?
Not yet. The Studio makes phone screenshots only. If your app runs on iPad, Apple requires a separate 13-inch set at 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732 pixels. iPad frames are on our list.
Privacy and rights
Are my screenshots uploaded anywhere?
No. The images are put together in your browser on your own device. Your screenshots and headlines aren't sent to our server or stored anywhere. More details are in the privacy policy.
Can I use the images commercially?
Yes. You own what you make. Use it in your store listings, on your website, in ads or in a pitch deck. No credit or attribution is required.
